Westcombe Park secured a bonus point win away at Tring as the league programme re-started after the Christmas break.

The score suggests a close game, but in truth Combe dominated for the most part.

A drop in concentration let in the home side for three quick scores at the finish which fortunately for Combe were not enough to change the result.

The home team had scored first with a Michael Hicks try, but Combe ended the first half ahead with two tries from Trent Nattrass, and one from Luke Bellinger. Ben Hough converted twice.

At the turnaround with the slight advantage of the elements, Combe extended their lead to 29-7 with further tries from Matt Arvier and Bryan Young.

All the hard work might have been undone in the last five minutes, as Combe took their eye off the ball and let Tring’s Tom Newton, Dan Peplow, and Richard Roberts in for late scores and earn their side two bonus points.
