Former British and Commonwealth champion boxer Anthony Small has been charged with terrorism offences.
Small, 33, of Southend Lane in Bellingham, is charged with preparation and assisting others with preparation of acts of terrorism, support of a proscribed organisation and conspiracy to possess false identify documents.
The boxer, who now goes by the name of Abdul Haqq, will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court today.
The charges against Small and five other men from east London follow arrests by officers from the Met's counter terrorism command on November 30 at Dover port and on December 1 and 4 in London.
