Halfway through the South London & Kent Pool Alliance winter season and the runaway leaders in the Premier Division, Rileys Hotshots and O'Connors faced each other with the winners guaranteed top spot.

Both teams were unbeaten going into this match, with Hotshots just two points ahead and it looked like O'Connors were going to close the gap, going 2-0 up but Hotshots battled back to win the set 3-2.

O'Connors won the second set by the same score to tie the match at five all but Hotshots pulled away in the final set, taking it 4-1 to win the match 9-6 and open up a five point lead at the top of the table.

Radical Rebels are having a great first season under that guise riding high at third in the table and they cemented that place this week with a 12-3 victory over Foots Cray Social Club Rugrats.

It was an amazing all round team performance with no less than five unbeaten players.

Peter Wells and Louis Wilbourne both finished on two out of two, as did Dayle Stork, who finished with a fine clearance in the final frame.

Barry Barham recorded his third two out of two in a row, while Declan Kelly was also unbeaten with two frame wins and has only lost two frames all season.

Eltham Terrace Club A are chasing Rebels all the way and only lost one point on them after beating Pickwick Academicals by 11 frames to 4.

Academicals looked to be reversing their fortunes by taking a 2-0 lead but Eltham battled back winning the set 3-2 and they went on to win the next two sets 4-1.

Ben McIntosh won both of his frames but Captain Ron Brown and Dan Foley went one better by winning all three of their frames.

Academicals youngster, Billy Levingbird played extremely well, winning half of his team's frames.

What a match at the Bellegrove where the Pickwick took a 6-1 lead but the home team fought back to tie the match at seven all and send the match into a final frame decider.

Pickwick's governor, Martin Storey played a solid frame to pull his team over the finish line and win the match 8-7.

Craig Mallinder did his best to win the match for Bellegrove with three frame wins.

North Heath Social Club had to come from behind to beat Eltham Terrace Rack Pack.

Rack Pack won the first set 3-2 and were 5-3 up before the end of the second set but they didn't get another frame as North Heath took the second set 3-2 and the final set 5-0.

North Heath dedicate this 10-5 victory to the memory of Steve Thompson, who recently passed away and has his funeral on Tuesday.

At the top of SLKPA Division One, Glenmore Arms A had the perfect opportunity to capitalise on Eltham Terrace Rovers free week as Eltham Terrace Nuthouse only had four players but they could only manage an 8-7 victory.

It was a close run thing all the way through, with each set being won by the odd frame 3-2, Glenmore the first two and Nuthouse the last.

Nuthouse will be wishing they had a full complement of players, especially as Shane O'Reilly and Dave Sparey won three frames each.

The current leader of the division's rankings, Paul Thomas was the only unbeaten player for Glenmore, also winning three frames.

It was a similar story in the match between Fox & Hounds and Royal Oak Addicks, whereby each set was won 3-2, Fox took the first two with the Addicks the final one, giving the Fox the 8-7 victory.

Lee O'Brien led from the front by winning the opening frame of each set, also winning three out three was Tom Wyatt for Fox, with Earnest Chin victorious in his only frame.

Bottom of SLKPA Division Two, Lord Herbert won't want to play division leaders Rileys Sharpshooters again as they were previously whitewashed 15-0 earlier in the season and only went one better this week, going down 14-1.

Sharpshooters won the first five frames before James Fickling won Herbert's first and only frame.

It was another superb performance from Sharpshooters, with Ben Creffield and Elliot Giles winning all three frames, John Shepherd, Alex Dobbins and Arif Salih all unbeaten with two frame wins and Scott Galpin won his only frame.

Still chasing the Sharpshooters are Plumstead Radical Club Rebels, who beat bottom team White Hart, 11-4.

Rebels won it in the first two sets, taking them 4-1 and 5-0 but White Hart fought back in the final set, winning it 3-2 but it wasn't enough to lift them off the bottom as they are still three points behind Lord Herbert.

Despite the big score the only two unbeaten Rebels were Leighton Aston and Tony Stork, both scoring a hat trick.

It was an exciting night at the Bellegrove, as the match between Bellegrove A and Glenmore Arms II was similar to the one between Bellegrove and Pickwick.

Bellegrove won the first set 3-2 and went on to win the next four frames to take a 7-2 lead, which included two out of twos for Keiths, Smith and Mitchell.

Glenmore staged an amazing comeback and took the next five frames, which included three great clearances, to tie the match at seven all.

Lewis Taylor of the Glenmore won the deciding frame, to give them the 8-7 victory and gain sweet revenge over Bellegrove, who won in a deciding frame the last time they met.
