Sidcup middleweight Jamie Andrews believes he is both mentally and physically in the best shape of his life ahead of next weekend’s return to the ring in the Queensbury Boxing League.

The 27-year-old plumber will step through the ropes on October 25 at Epsom racecourse to face Surrey rival Joe Robertson in his first competitive bout since losing his title challenge to Ben Davies back in February.

After missing out on claiming his first title in the Queensbury Boxing League, the Sidcup stylist has gone back to the drawing board and will be approaching his next challenge full of confidence.

Andrews said: “This time around I won’t be taking fights at short notice like I did against Davies - and you are going to see a very different performance.

“In the Davies fight I felt I had already lost it before I even stepped through the ropes as I’d taken the fight with just a few weeks notice.

“But for this one I’ve been in the gym working hard for seven weeks.

“Both mentally and physically I’m feeling great and can’t wait to get in there.

“I feel I’m in a different place right now with my boxing and the training I’ve been doing down in Surrey at the Like 2 Box academy has made me feel like a different fighter.

“Ultimately I’d love to secure rematches with both Dolan and Davies somewhere down the line, but at the moment all my focus is on this fight and getting the win.”

Andrews’ return to the ring will feature on the undercard of the national super middleweight title showdown between Artur Gorka and Terry Russell.
