In the last week of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance, Elite League there was a possibility that Pickwick, Foots Cray Social Club Rugrats and Rileys Rebels could all fill the remaining  relegation spot, but with all three teams winning this week, Rebels keep the spot and drop into TierTwo.

Rebels played like a team with everything to play for and tore Eltham Terrace Club A apart in the first set with a 5-0 whitewash.

Paul Shrimpton gave Eltham a good start to the second set with a break and dish and they won the next frame for a 2-0 lead in the set but Rebels clawed their way back to win the next three frames to take the set, the match and keep their survival hopes alive.

But Rebels timed their run a bit late, as their hopes were dashed with Eltham taking the final set 4-1 to ensure they finished third.

Barry Barham and Leighton Aston were unbeaten on two out of two, helping Rebels to the 2-1 and 9-6 victory.

Mathematically, Pickwick could still have found themselves in the relegation zone and they had by far the hardest match, against the newly crowned champions, O'Connors but they inflicted only the second defeat of the season on the champions with a 2-1 and 9-6 triumph.

O'Connors won the first set but Pickwick gatecrashed their party by taking the next two, with Ash Hall the head gatecrasher by winning all three of his frames.

Adam Coppen produced a dish from a dry break in the final frame but it was too little too late for O'Connors this week.

Foots Cray Social Club Rugrats also avoided the drop with a 3-0 and 11-4 win over Royal Oak to join Pickwick on 29 points but Pickwick have won more frames over the season.

George Covington and Dan Fenech won all three of their frames for Rugrats, with their Captain, Scott Shephard winning two of his three frames but Natalie Barnes was the happiest player, after recording her first victory of the season in the final match.

Bellegrove finish three points behind the league champions with a 3-0 and 12-3 win over North Heath Social Club.

The ever dependable Tony Halpin scored yet another three out of three and he was joined by Craig Mallinder and Richard Chapman with the League Chairman, Martin Donohoe winning two out of three frames on a rare outing.

It's still all to play for at the top of SLKPA Tier Two East as there are only two points between O'Dowds Flyers and Glenmore Arms A with one game left to play.

Flyers distinguished any hopes Eltham Terrace Nuthouse had of reaching the play off spot and kept control of the top spot with a 3-0 and 9-6 victory.

The match was much closer than the score suggests with each set being won by the odd frame, 3-2.

Jon Syta and Alex Dobbins both won a frame in each set with Dobbins also achieving a dish from a dry break.

Glenmore Arms A can only finish in first or second after beating Bellegrove Social Club B by 2 sets to 1 and 8 frames to 7.

It was another close match with each set being won 3-2 and Glenmore coming from behind twice to win their sets.

Despite the closeness, there was one player from each side who remained unbeaten on three out of three, Tony Stevens for the victors and Terry Mitchell for Bellegrove.

If the other two games in this division were close then the final game between the bottom two teams was far from it, with Glenmore Arms II beating White Hart 3-0 and 12-3.

It was a great result for Glenmore, with only four players winning their twelve frames, as Jason Brunton, Simon Evans, Shane Burnett and Lewis Brind were all unbeaten with three frames each.

Despite losing to their nearest rivals, Eltham Terrace Rack Pack have secured the play off spot in SLKPA Tier Two West.

They struggled to get the point they needed as Pickwick Academicals won the first two sets 4-1 and 3-2 but Rack Pack turned it around to score the elusive point and take the final set 3-2, making the final score 2-1 and 9-6 in Academicals favour.

Alex Thompson was in sparkling form, winning all three frames including a total clearance from a dry break.

He was joined on three out of three by Academicals Jason Levingbird with Donna Levingbird equalling Natalie Barnes feat and winning her first frame of the season.

Darren Porter got the division champions, Eltham Terrace Rovers off to a great start against O'Dowds A with a break and dish but O'Dowds shocked the champions by winning the first set 3-2.

Rovers won the first three frames of the second set to win it but O'Dowds took the last two frames and that was repeated in the last set to make the final score 2-1 and 8-7 to Rovers.

Given how tight the match was you would expect unbeaten records to be at a premium but both sides managed to have two players on three out of three, Porter and Rob Hearn for Rovers and O'Dowds Kerry Wyatt and Alan Dolan.

The bottom two teams, Lord Clyde and Royal Oak Addicks were due to play but Addicks couldn't field a side, giving Lord Clyde the points.
