Biggin Hill motorcycle racer Chris Threadgill headed to Thruxton Motorsport Centre last weekend to compete in the fifth round of the Triumph Triple Challenge.
The event runs alongside the prestigious British Superbike Championships.
After being knocked off his Triumph Daytona 675R the week before while testing, the team at T3 Racing had a lot of work to get the bike running before Threadgill could head out for Friday’s practice session.
The 22-year-old got off to a bright start and finished the session fifth fastest.
Saturday’s qualifying started with a damp track.
Threadgill went out on wet tyres but the sun came out and he wasn’t able to swap to dry tyres, leaving him languishing in tenth place.
After a poor start, the Biggin Hill ace was down in 12th place on lap one but was able to fight back through to finish sixth, his best result of the season despite the injuries he picked up to his ankle from the crash last week.
Threadgill is now looking to build on the result next time out at Lincolnshire’s Cadwell Park on August 23, 24 and 25.
