With two league games left of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Tier Two West season, Eltham Terrace Rovers have won the division, with this week's victory, over Lord Clyde being inspired by their own Stevie wonder.

Lord Clyde looked to be upsetting the form books by winning the first four frames when Steven Reed, who hasn't played all season due to an eye condition but forced to play this week as Rovers only had five players took to the table.

His opponent, Sam Mossom had his chances but couldn't take them, Reed fought hard and eventually won the frame to put Rovers on the board and put real meaning to the phrase, the blind leading the blind.

Martin Luff won his second of three frames to start the second set but Rovers went on to win the next four to tie the match at 1-1 in sets and 5-5 in frames.

The four frames included a dish from a non nomination foul by Paul Dawson and another win for Reed, who produced a great three ball clearance but jawed the black, only for Billy Russell to also miss leaving Reed a usually easy pot which he despatched.

Luff won the first frame of the set for the third time on the night but Rovers pulled one back before Sam Mossom looked to gain revenge on Reed after his first set loss against him.

He looked to be doing so, as he got down to the black while Reed still had three balls on the table, all on a cushion, Mossom doubled the black but the white also went down to give the partially sighted Reed his three out of three.

Darren Porter won the next frame to seal the victory and the title and Lee Osborn took the final frame to make the overall score 2-1 and 9-6.

Eltham Terrace Rack Pack, despite being eleven points behind Rovers could secure second place next week as they are now eight points ahead of third after beating O'Dowds A 2-1 and 9-6.

O'Dowds took the first set 3-2 but it could quite easily have been 4-1 as Clive Forrest skilfully cut the black in while still having three balls on the table, giving Steve Unwin the frame.

Rack Pack won the second set by the same 3-2 score to tie the match at 1 set each and 5 frames each..

They went on to win the first four frames of the final set, including Alex Thompson's third frame of the night, to seal the victory, before Kerry Wyatt won the last frame for her three out of three.

The points were shared between Royal Oak Addicks and Pickwck Academicals as the latter won 2-1 in sets but Addicks won 8-7 in frames.

Academicals Graham Levingbird played well for his two from three frames.

Also winning the league title this week were O'Connors from the SLKPA Elite League.

After beating Eltham Terrace Club A 2-1 and 10-5 they have gone six points clear with only four to play for.

They took the first and last set 4-1, with Eltham Terrace nicking the middle set 3-2.

Despite the loss, Steve Pearce found a way to beat Tony Gear, by not giving him a shot, with a break and dish, which James Sheed also achieved in the final set.

Foots Cray Social Club Rugrats have made the final week of the Elite League very interesting by beating Pickwick 2-1 and 9-6.

Rugrats won the first set 3-2, with Pickwick doing the same in the second to make the score 1-1 in sets and 5-5 in frames but Pickwick made some crucial mistakes in the last set, which Rugrats punished to take the set 4-1.

Rugrats Captain Scott Shephard led the way with a hat trick of wins, and George Covington, Steve Gibson and Adam Hewson backing him up on two out of three.

This result drags Pickwick into the struggle to stay out of the final relegation spot, as they are only a point above Rugrats and four above Rileys Rebels, who currently hold the spot.

Rebels did themselves no favours this week, although they were playing second placed Bellegrove, who ended up the victors by 3 sets to 0 and 11 frames to 4.

Bellegrove won the first and third set 4-1 and the middle one 3-2 with Tony Halpin and Craig Mallinder winning a frame in each set.

Also unbeaten and giving the Rebels some pride was Declan Kelly, who won both of his frames.

The two already relegated teams faced each other this week and it was Royal Oak who were victorious over North Heath Social Club 2-1 and 9-6, with Captain Paul Clements winning all three of his frames.

It's still wide open in SLKPA Tier Two East as the top two, O'Dowds Flyers and Glenmore Arms A met with second placed Glenmore taking the points but only just by 2 sets to 1 and 8 frames to 7.

It was a tense, close game, with each set being won 3-2 and the final set going down to a decider with the score at 1-1 and 7-7, which James Grant won for his third of the night and Glenmore's victory.

This win puts Glenmore just one point behind their opponents with two games to play.

Still in with a shout are Eltham Terrace Nuthouse who are seven points behind Glenmore after a 2-1 and 10-5 win over Glenmore Arms II.

Glenmore II looked like doing their A side a favour as they won the first set 3-2 but Nuthouse bounced back with a 5-0 whitewash in the second set, which included Julie Lancaster winning her only frame.

Mark Carrano gave Glenmore the first frame in the final set but Craig Jones won the next, his third of the night, to give Nuthouse the win in frames.

Dave Sparey put Nuthouse one ahead in the set but Jason Brunton tied the set before Shane O'Reilly won the final frame to give Nuthouse the victory in sets as well.

White Hart raced into a 3-0 lead against Bellegrove Social Club B but they won the next seven frames on the trot to even the score in sets but take a 7-3 lead overall.

The first four frames in the final set were shared with Tony Hodsdon winning the decider for Bellegrove, his second frame win of the night, making the overall score 2-1 and 10-5.

Also unbeaten on two out of two was Martin Hession with John Skuza and John Ufuoma on two out of three.
