BOXER Tom Dolan will put his Queensbury middleweight title on the line this month when he faces Jamie Andrews in a mouth-watering all Sidcup affair.

The 22-year-old was last in action back in September when he produced a career best performance to beat fellow title challenger Naethan Hutcheon to claim the Queensbury Boxing League’s novice middleweight belt.

But Dolan will face arguably his toughest assignment to date in the competition on November 30 when he faces fellow Sidcup native Andrews.

Andrews was recently in action in the league when he produced one of the performances of the show to set up his title challenge.

However, a confident Dolan has predicted it will be another victory for him in the competition and believes the belt will not be changing hands on the night.

“Winning the title back in September was fantastic and having the fight shown on British Eurosport was amazing,” he said.

“But since the win I’ve had a few days off from training and now I’m fully focussed on Jamie Andrews.

“With Jamie also coming from Sidcup, this will add a bit more to this fight being a derby.

“From what I’ve seen of him he looks strong, fit and is a good boxer, so this is not going to be an easy fight for me on the night.

“I’m feeling sharp, but like in any sport when you start stepping up in levels you need to raise your game.

“We’ve again been concentrating on some real old school methods to prepare for this fight and I think you will see my best performance on the night.

“Tactics wise I feel he’s the one that’s going to have to come after me and get past my jab, and I’m very confident I’ll still be holding the belt at the end of another great fight.”

Also in action on the undercard of the big end of season finale will be Sidcup-based heavyweight prospect Michael Pilditch, who will return to action after recording his first victory in the competition last time out beating Marcus Blount.

Pildicth will face Ross Lewis over three rounds as he bids to secure his second straight win in the league after dropping to a number of close points defeats earlier on in his career.

And the popular former title challenger has promised to make a statement as he bids to move back up the rankings.

Both Dolan and Pilditch will feature on the league’s Breaking Point season finale which takes place on November 30 at the Copthorne Effingham Park Hotel.
