BOSS Stuart Weston has called on the Charlton women’s team to remember how much Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Lewes hurts by making sure it never happens again.
Despite going a goal up in the second half through a Kit Graham header, victory was snatched from the Addicks as Lewes grabbed two late goals.
And Weston refused to make any excuses for his side’s poor performance, one he hopes they can quickly respond to in this Sunday’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur at Ware FC (2pm).
He said: “If we had given a good account of ourselves and lost then I wouldn’t be so disappointed.
“But the fact is, especially for the whole of the first half, we weren’t at the races.
“I can’t make any excuses, I just don’t think the girls turned up and gave what they would normally give.
“The loss is hurting the girls.
“I don’t think it will happen again, they know they didn’t put in what they normally put in.
“We need to put it behind us but we don’t need to forget it.
“We need to remember how it feels what you come away and you lose a game so it doesn’t happen again.”
