DARTFORD fighter Daniel Woledge enjoyed a unanimous points victory in the 75kg youth final of the Haringey Box Cup.

More than 300 boxers from across Europe were competing at the prestigious event and 18-year-old Woledge booked a final date with Irish champion and international Ryan Dervan after defeating Heart of Portsmouth’s Matteus Chewowski in the semis.

Woledge, a member of St Mary’s ABC in Chatham, increased his work-rate against Dervan and with his classy footwork and lightning hand speed, began to dominate.

Dervan enjoyed some success with his shots, although Woledge was always in control, landing scoring shots.

At the final bell Woledge the Dartford youngster had his hand raised for a unanimous points win and a gold medal.

It caps a great year for the Dartford youngster, who is currently in the Team GB development squad and has the potential to represent his country in Rio at the 2016 Olympics.
