SHOOTERS Hill enjoyed a 20-0 victory over Southwark Lancers on Saturday.
Newly-promoted Lancers showed some speed in the backs but spent most of the first period in their own half.
Despite losing two lineouts, Shoots put sustained pressure on the visitors with some great forcing runs from No 8 Dave Viney. T he pressure paid off as skipper Kelvin Munroe touched down under the posts.
Soon afterwards Viney featured again as hooker Paul Stephen was forced over the line.
Edmar Vinluan slotted both kicks.
There was no holding Viney down in the second half as he put in another driving run but Southwark were still in the game with two interceptions before Shoots' pressure led to two penalties from Vinluan to seal a victory.
There were many good performances but Shoots have more work to do to haul themselves off eighth place.
