Penalties over a two minute spell in the second half decided the outcome of the F.A, Cup match between Welling United and Haringey Borough.

After Welling missed one at one end, Haringey converted one at the other end to record a second qualifying round upset.

Two divisions separated the clubs but that was not obvious when the visitors got off to a dream start. A long arrowed pump forward was not cut out and Ralstoh Gabriel got clear before rounding Dillon Barnes and firing home.

Ruaridh Kay escaped with a caution for a horror challenge before Gabriel curled an effort wide.

Joe Healy had a shooting opportunity following a goalmouth scramble but it was deflected on the way over but nothing came of the free kick.

David Olufemi conceded a free kick that Christian Nanetti blasted into the wall then another foul offered Healy the chance to deliver but Eli Phipps headed wide.

Anthony McDonald shot wide for Haringey before Gabriel should have been dismissed for a wild challenge on Nanetti but escaped with a caution. Nanetti appeared to be targeted as Olufemi was booked for bringing him down soon after.

Just before the half time interval Phipps headed wide from Jeffrey Monakana's cross.

At the interval, Welling changed their formation from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 with Phipps being replaced by Jack Jebb.

Eleven minutes into the second period, Welling drew level when Valery Pajtet missed Monakana's cross and Healy kept calm bringing it down before sliding it home.

Healy continued to be the main danger and somehow broke through three tackles but could only stab his shot at Pajetat..

Pajetat was worked a bit harder by Jebb's free kick but made the save before the defining moment.

Gabriel brought Nanetti down in the area but Pajetat went the right way to make the save. Immediately, Haringey raced to the other end and Olufemi was brought down by a rash challenge by Ben Jefford. Gabriel stepped up and converted confidently.

Although twelve minutes remained it was deep into the five additional minutes when Welling had another goal attempt but Jamie Coyle was unable to get the power from Monakana's cross to trouble Pajetat.
