Bromley Football Club have made a major addition to their ranks with a young star ahead of the upcoming Vanarama National League season.

Former Arsenal and Nottingham Forest midfielder Josh Rees has joined The Ravens at Hayes Lane, the club announced on its website.

Rees, 23, was a key figure for Vanarama National League South side Chelmsford City last season, but when manager Neil Smith got in touch to see if he was available, he was eager to sign.

He said: “I got the call from the gaffer a couple weeks ago and I was straight in the next day to try and agree something and thankfully today it’s all sorted.

“I’m really excited by the challenge ahead.”

Smith said: "I’m really pleased, he’s someone we’ve kept an eye on over the course of last season when he was playing for Chelmsford.

"He had a really good year and to get the opportunity to get him on board is brilliant. He’s a young, enthusiastic guy and he wants to prove a point to himself and to others."
