Ten-man Bromley fought back from two goals down to earn themselves a late point and put a dent into Forest Green Rovers’ title hopes on Monday.

Kurtis Guthrie’s first-half brace looked to have been enough to take all three points back to Gloucestershire but Jack Holland’s injury-time header levelled things up to complete Bromley’s comeback.

A bumper crowd of 1,455 were at Hayes Lane on the sunny Bank Holiday afternoon, as Neil Smith made three changes from the team that lost at Braintree on Friday.

The Ravens couldn’t have got off to a worse start as early pressure forced a corner, before Guthrie diverted Brett Williams’ wayward effort past Alan Julian.

It was Guthrie’s 10th goal of the season and Bromley struggled to recover from it, as Forest Green dominated possession throughout the opening 45 minutes.

They could have added a second with half-an-hour played, but Julian was alert to make a fine double save from Williams.

Forest Green continued to press and were rewarded for their pressure on the stroke of half-time.

Bromley’s defence failed to clear a teasing ball form Marcus Kelly, with Guthrie on hand to fire home his second of the afternoon.

Bromley came out for the second half fresh and full of ideas, and nearly found a way back into the game immediately.

Adam Coombes raced through on goal and looked to have been brought down by Racine, but referee Rob Whitton waved play on.

A number of half chances fell for Rovers as they looked to extent their lead, but it was Bromley who found a way through with an hour on the clock, to set up a dramatic final thirty minutes.

A hopeful long ball found Minshull, whose header towards the back post was gratefully swept in by an unmarked Pierre Joseph-Dubois.

Neil Smith brought on Louis Dennis and Bradley Goldberg in an attempt to find an equaliser, but frustration showed five minutes from time, with Paul Rodgers shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge.

Despite the disadvantage, Bromley’s resilience shone through as they levelled the score in the second minute of added time.

Captain Rob Swaine flicked on Gordon’s corner and former Crystal Palace defender Jack Holland was on hand to head home and rescue a point.

Bromley remain 12th in the National League after the draw, just one point below Lincoln City, who they host on Saturday and could leapfrog with a victory.
