BECKENHAM Town have threatened to withdraw from entering the London Senior Cup again after they finished up with 10-men against Thamesmead on Tuesday.

Alfie Nunn saw red as Beckenham went down to a bruising 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Ryman Division One side at Eden Park Avenue on Tuesday evening.

Both goals came in extra-time from from Richard Butler and Theo Fairweather-Johnson, but Becks secretary Peter Palmer was critical about the way in which the match was handled by the officials.

He said: “I’ve got no complaints about the goals or the result.

“But in what was a very physical match, I was not satisfied with the degree of protection offered to our players by the referee. I spoke to him about this during break.

“I think probably the time has come for us consider whether this is a competition in which we want to compete.”
