BROMLEY made it two wins out of two at Hayes Lane on Tuesday evening with a convincing victory over Boreham Wood served up with a brand of attacking football.

However, it was the visitors who went close in the early stages when Daryl McMahon saw his free-kick blocked by the defensive wall, and his follow up shot deflected off Tutu Henriques.

Ryan Adams then had to make a last ditch interception of Ali Chabaan’s cross to deny the Boreham Wood captain a clear sight of goal.

Bromley fought back and Adams went around two defenders before playing a one-two with Danny Hockton and unleahing a low left-footed shot which keeper Elvijs Putnins just managed to gather at the second attempt.

The home side opened the scoring on 25 minutes when keeper Dean Santangelo’s long free-kick was headed on by Hockton, putting Hakeem Araba through to run on and clip a shot past Putnins and into the far corner.

Boreham Wood’s keeper got down well to push Hockton’s downward header around the postone minute later.

From the corner Ryan Dolby shot high and wide, while at the other end Santangelo did well to deny David Bryant by coming quickly off his line to block with his legs.

Dolby hit the side-netting following good work from Hockton. Hockton himself went close with a header from Joe Dolan’s cross and Araba fired high and wide after creating the chance for himself, as Bromley finished the half in control.

The second period was just seven minutes old when Bromley doubled their score.

Dolby set Danny Waldren free on the left and his cross was met at the near post by Hockton, who steered an effort across the keeper and into the far corner.

Hockton, Dolby and Orlando Smith all missed chances to put the home side further ahead, but on 65 minutes it was 3-0.

A great Marlon Patterson 40-yard cross-field pass to Smith split the Boreham Wood defence, as the winger cut inside two defenders before crashing a 20 yard volley past the startled keeper.

Bromley continued to impress and it came as no surprise when the fourth goal arrived on 78 minutes.

Harry Harding combined well with Leon McKenzie and Adams, who played Harding into the area before the substitute crossed for another sub Gareth Williams to fire home from about 12 yards.

With six minutes remaining Bromley were denied a fifth goal when Putnins got down well to parry away McKenzie’s close range header from Smith’s cross, as Bromley completed a highly successful evening.
