Cray Wanderers 3 v 1 Whyteleafe

Ashford Town 2 v 0 Bromley

Dartford 2 v 2 Folkestone Invicta (Darts win 5-3 on pens)

Westview Cup, round two

CRAY Wanderers and Dartford have reached the third round of the Ryman League Cup, sponsored by Westview.

However Bromley, currently the top team in the league, fell at the first hurdle.

The biggest drama of the night was at Ship Lane where Dartford of Division One South beat Folkestone of the Premier Division.

Central defender Tony Henry scored twice in 10 second half minutes to put Darts 2-0 ahead.

However Folkestone, still without a win this season, battled back to force extra time and penalties.

Darts goalkeeper Kevin Hudson was the hero of the night saving one spot-kick while Dave Martin, Ryan Hayes, Steve Hafner, Henry and Tommy Osbourne all held their nerve for a 5-3 win.

Cray had an easier journey to the third round courtesy of two early strikes.

Junior Baker and Leigh Bremner had the Wands 2-0 ahead on 12 minutes as Whyteleafe's defence opened up before them.

At the start of the second half Steve Douglas' strike had the visiting faithful hopeful of a comeback.

However, the ever-green Colin Luckett fired an inch-perfect free-kick from 25 yards on 53 minutes to all but settle matters.

To their credit Whyteleafe did not give up and Wands' reserve keeper Grant Hall had to deny Douglas and Leon McDowall with smart saves.

Douglas had the ball in the net with five minutes to go but was deemed offside and the same fate befell Wands' Al-James Hannigan right on the final whistle.

Bromley sent a predominantly reserve 11 to Ashford Town.

Goals from Anthony Allman and Richard Sinden condemned the Lillywhites to their first competitive defeat of the season.

The draw for the third round should be announced on September 14.
