Two goals from Leigh Bremner gave Cray a home win against Margate and maximum points during Easter, but the Wands can no longer reach the Ryman Premier play-offs with just one game remaining.

Cray have moved up to eighth after their Easter holiday wins against Tooting and Margate, but results elsewhere wiped out Cray's last hopes of a play-off place in their second season of Ryman Premier fooball.

A scrappy but competitive first half saw Cray and Margate create very few chances at either end.

Cray's leading scorer Laurent Hamici drilled a shot into the side netting after Bremner forced an opening for him, and Hamici then shot over the bar when Tyrone Sterling cut in from the left and rolled the ball to him.

Cray seized the lead on 57 minutes when Bremner bundled the ball into the net after Jack Clark's free-kick led to a big scramble in the goalmouth.

Margate couldn't break down a solid Cray defence, with 'keeper Dave King safely collecting Aaron Lacey's dangerous long throw-ins.

Bremner netted his second goal, and his 14th of the season, when Hamici's shot was deflected into his path during time added-on.

Cray: King, McLeod (Sterling 21), Bentley, Saunders, Willy, Guest, Bremner, Day, Hamici, Phillips, Clark.

Subs not used: Gibbs, Dolby, Lozano, Chalmers-Stevens.

Cray finish the 2010-11 season away to Harrow Borough on Saturday (3pm).
