BECKENHAM Town are set to make their first appearance in the quarter-finals of the London Senior Cup later this month when they entertain Conference big guns AFC Wimbledon.

The Kent League outfit know victory over a Dons side battling to win promotion to the Football League would set up another home tie in the semi-final against either Hendon or Thamesmead Town.

Eden Park Avenue will host the Dons on March 22 when Beckenham’s defence will be pulling out all the stops to keep out Wimbledon’s goal machine, former Welling striker Danny Kedwell.

Beckenham are hoping to break the club’s record attendance of 720 set against Berkhamsted Town in the FA Cup in 1994.

AFC Wimbledon were formed after the controversial switch to Milton Keynes by 1988 FA Cup winners Wimbledon and always bring a huge travelling contingent wherever they play.

It hasn’t been an easy route to the quarter-finals for Becks, who have had to overcome two difficult away encounters.

Having got a bye in the first round they beat Corinthian Casuals 4-2 in a much postponed second round tie before beating Barking 2-0 in February with goals from James Holder and Daniel Morris.

Turnstiles at Eden Park Avenue open at 6pm and admission prices are adults £7, concessions £3 and children £2.
