Cray's interest in the London Senior Cup came to an end when Tooting netted two goals in a minute, midway through the first half of Tuesday night's quarter-final.

Tooting's two-goal salvo from Jason Henry and Tyrone Sealey came against the run of play after the Wands had started the game camped inside the Tooting half, sending wave after wave of attacks at the Tooting goal.

Cray found 'keeper Jamie Butler in inspired form, tipping away a Jack Clark free-kick and saving with his legs when Laurent Hamici tried to rifle a shot past him at the near post.

Cray found the net following another free-kick from Clark, but the flag was raised for offside.

And then from another Clark free-kick Butler made a superb reaction save to touch a Carl Gibbs header round the post.

Tooting's two goals changed the complexion of the game, with the Wands finding it hard to open up the home defence afterwards.

At the start of the second half Gibbs shot over the bar from a good position following a Cray corner-kick.

Cray sent on Leigh Bremner and Danny Phillips, but Butler made a good double-save from Chris Saunders and Bremner, and Hamici was unlucky to see a fierce shot deflected narrowly wide with Butler rooted to his line.

Cray: Brennan, Hamici, Clark, Saunders, Vines, Guest, Lover, Hassan (Phillips 76), Gibbs, Mesade (Bremner 68), Lozano. Subs not used: Bentley, Woolf, King.

Cray travel to Lowestoft Town on Saturday in the Ryman Premier League (3pm) and are home to Sittingbourne in the Kent Senior Cup quarter-final next Tuesday (7.30pm).
