BROMLEY assistant manager Barry Moore has confirmed striker Warren McBean is staying at Hayes Lane.

The Lilywhites crashed to 3-1 defeat away to Welling last night and have now won just five of their last 23 matches.

McBean, subject to interest from Ebbsfleet, failed to find the net again but will now stay at the club for the rest of the campaign.

“Warren’s staying with us now – he’ll be with us until the end of the season,” revealed Moore.

“It depends on the on the club and it depends on the player what they want to do next season.

“He’s had various games in the last three or four weeks where he has done very well outside the box and hasn't put the ball in the net.

“We’ve got faith in him, he has not been the second top scorer for two seasons running in the league and then becomes a bad player.

“We believe in Warren, hopefully he believes in us and he will get back on the scoring trail.”

Bromley fell apart during a devastating 15 minute spell for Welling, conceding just 90 seconds after the interval through Lee Clarke's header from a set-play.

It got worse for Hayden Bird’s men as Louis Fazakerley scored direct from a free-kick, which seemed to evade everyone in the box before finding the far corner.

Andy Pugh netted a third for Welling with a low drive on the edge of the box just minutes later as Bromley simply fell apart.

“It was a disappointing 15 minutes,” admitted Moore.

"I thought the first half was pretty even - we got into good positions and we came out in the second half thinking we would progress a little bit more.

“But two set pieces defended poorly and we're then chasing the game.

“For the third goal, our centre-half banged his head against the wall, so he was out of position and it ended up going into the edge of the box.

“To be fair, it was a great strike by Pugh but one of our centre halves was out of position and we got punished.”
