BROMLEY manager Hayden Bird has told his squad to buck their ideas up quickly after Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Staines.

The Lillywhites are still in the play-offs after the loss but it was the manner of Bromley’s performance which infuriated the boss.

He said: “It was a display which was not up to the standard of Bromley FC and the players have been made aware of it in no uncertain terms. They need to put it right immediately.

“Every team I’ve managed or been involved with have had quality on the ball and passion.

“If these players are not prepared to rise to those standards then maybe it is time for them to think again because they failed to do so on Saturday.”

Bromley have a chance to put the result behind them tomorrow night in the Kent Cup when they host Ebbsfleet at Hayes Lane.

Bird added: “My intention is to field a strong side because the competition provides a realistic chance of silverware for us this season.”

Meanwhile, the manager has confirmed Marlon Patterson has been released by the club, making Saturday’s appearance against Staines his last in a Bromley shirt.
