Bashley 3 v 2 Cray
Ryman Division One
CRAY'S outside hopes of reaching the play-offs suffered a setback in Hampshire, writes Jerry Dowlen.
A hat-trick by Bashley's 21-year-old leading scorer Richard Gillespie ended their five game unbeaten run.
Gillespie struck on 41 and 42 minutes, and again on 60 minutes after having forced a brilliant save from Steve Northwood shortly after the re-start.
Gary Abbott (above) had briefly reduced the arrears by heading in after 59 minutes, but this was an afternoon when the Wands lacked firepower up front.
A 64th minute goal from David Hall failed to bring the Wands forward line to life, and late breakaways saw Bashley twice hit the woodwork.
