Dartford under-11s 3 v 0 Woolwich under 11's

Friendly

DARTFORD under-11s continued their unbeaten spell with a 3-0 frienly victory against a strengthening Woolwich side, writes Brian Page.

The hosts went close to scoring in the opening minutes with Sweyne's Sam Small directing a corner to Knockhall's Jack Page who headed narrowly wide of the target.

Harry Bell from Fleetdown School and Sam Olaofe from Horton Kirby both tried getting on the scoresheet before Small had a well-flighted left-footed drive cleared off the goal line by Woolwich's Connor Diamond.

The deadlock was broken eight minutes before the interval when Page collected a well-timed ball from skipper Matt Holder of Wilmington School and calmly placed the ball into the net from 15 yards.

A late first-half solo effort by Olaofe hit the woodwork and the rebound went found its way to the keeper as Page closed in.

An early second-half effort from Olaofe was blasted across the face of Woolwich's goal as Dartford picked up some pace.

Half-time substitute Luke Whitehead of Sutton-at-Hone, saw his goalbound attempt cleared from the six-yard box before Olaofe scored Dartford's second goal by picking up a ball from Page and trickling it into the goal off the upright.

A late error on the edge of Woolwich's penalty was pounced on by Whitehead who blasted the ball into the roof of the net for his 13th goal of the season.

Dartford travel to Thanet on January 28 for a Gills Shield match.
