Under-11 School's Football

Dartford and District 1 v 0 Haringey and District

DARTFORD and District under-11s bounced back from last week's defeat with a slender but hard-fought win, writes Brian Page, producing a good solid performance against a tough and physical Haringey side.

A fast-paced match saw the visitors start strongest forcing an early save from Thomas Wellham in Dartford's goal.

But as the first half progressed Dartford settled down and played attractive passing football from their midfield, with Thomas Hammond proving solid in defence while Ryan May and Luke Whitehead showed some good early touches up front.

The Waller Park based-side commanded possession but Haringey created quick counter-attacks only to be thwarted by Hammond in Dartford's defence.

After the interval Dartford continued pushing forward aided by Matthew Holder playing a strong play-making role from his central midfield position.

Despite several on-target shots from Haringey's strike-force Dartford remained strong and focused.

Dartford boss Brian Williams brought on Harry Bell for the final stages of the match and the decision came to fruition when the striker picked up McGregor's square pass and chipped the keeper from outside the area.

Thomas Hammond was declared man-of-the-match his strong defensive performance.
