Bromley earned an FA Trophy third round tie at Cheshunt on November 27 after a thrilling 4-3 away win at Maidenhead United on Saturday.

However, they started the match disastrously and went behind after just 15 seconds when Craig O'Connor blasted the ball in from close range.

Bromley nearly went two-down three minutes later, but United's Richard Harris headed wide by the far post when he should have scored.

The visitors then started to settle and levelled after 22 minutes. Sam Okafor gathered Paul Kember's astute through ball on the right and his cross was headed in off of the underside of the bar by Scott Bennetts.

Bromley looked to be lucky when O'Connor netted from a rebound but was ruled offside. Their luck increased after 32 minutes when Colin Luckett floated a free-kick into the Maidenhead box and defender Chris Elsegood looped a header into his own net.

Ten minutes after the interval, Luckett was again involved when he chipped in another tantalising free-kick, which Leroy Huggins glanced in to make it 3-1.

The influential Luckett then scores the goal his performance deserved after 73 minutes, when he swung the ball in from the left and beyond United keeper Goldman.

The game seemd safe until Barrie Matthews and Simon Paterson both scored late on for Maidenhead to set up a nerve-jangling last few minutes for Bromley.

During last midweek, a second-minute goal by Adolph Amoako was enough for Bromley to beat Tooting & Mitcham United in their league match at Imperial Fields.

Next Saturday, Bromley return to Ryman League Division One action when they play AFC Wimbledon at Hayes Lane, kick-off 3pm.
