WITH a £5,000 cash prize, one of the most prestigious small-sided football events in the UK attracted four national five-a-side champions for the final stages of the London FA/Elms' Challenge Cup.
The men's tournament was played at the Goals Soccer Centre, in Wembley, when 46 teams had the opportunity to test their skills and which culminated in the best two contesting the grand final.
The tournament was won by last year's winners, MDU, who picked up another winner's cheque as a great team performance left them unbeaten in LFA/Elms Challenge Cup group and knockout games for the last two years.
The winning goal was calmly slotted in by Rob Ursell, with a strike from 15 yards as they beat a Liberty team 1-0 in the final.
Last season, when known as Carrib, the Lewisham-based side also finished runners up.
