EBBSFLEET recovered from defeat on Saturday by holding play-off chasing Kidderminster to a 2-2 draw yesterday evening.

Boss Liam Daish demanded an improvement after Barrow battered Fleet 4-1 at Stonebridge Road.

But he must have felt his words had fallen on deaf ears when Ebbsfleet fell behind at Aggborough after just five minutes when Darryl Knights rose high to get on the end of Brian Smikle’s left-wing cross to head the hosts in front.

Moses Ashikodi equalised with a volley on 36 minutes and the Kent side took the lead when substitute Scott Ginty, who came on for Magno Vieira after 18 minutes, put the Fleet ahead with 21 minutes remaining.

However, Ebbsfleet were prevented from claiming victory when Smikle levelled from 20 yards on 77 minutes to give the home side a draw.

The result leaves Fleet in 17th place in the Blue Square Premier, six points above the relegation zone. Daish’s side are on their travels again this weekend when they head to Wrexham on Saturday.
