Cray Wanderers will be in pre-season friendly action at Hayes Lane on Thursday, 3rd August as Cray take on last season’s Isthmian South playoff winners Dorking Wanderers.  Kick off at Hayes Lane is 7.45pm.

This fixture will be an excellent test for Tony Russell’s team who have won their last six pre-season games, all away and will give the team a chance to try out the new 3G playing surface installed at Hayes Lane this season.  Dorking Wanderers are an upwardly mobile club which will be playing in the newly sponsored Bostik League Premier next season and beat Cray home and away last season and are very well organised and strong going forward.

Admission on Thursday costs £6.00 adults, £3.00 concessions.

Cray continued their pre-season games on Friday night with a trip to Chislehurst to take on near neighbours Glebe.  On a wet and windy night it was Glebe who took the lead in the 11th minute with a good piece of finishing from Fred Obasa.   Cray though thought back and with a side containing a mixture of young and experienced players levelled on the half hour through Freddie Parker’s header.

The Wands went in front in the 58th minute with a Jerome Walker penalty after Karl Dent was brought down and Cray went on to win a tricky game, 2-1 against the SCEFL Premier newcomers.

After Thursday Cray have one more friendly arranged at Merstham on Saturday before the season kicks off in earnest on Saturday, 12th August at home to Thamesmead Town.
