The Wands moved up to sixth in the Isthmian League South table after a third straight league win saw off the challenge of Molesey at Hayes Lane.

Cray had dominated the opening exchanges and took the lead in the 14th minute when Karl Dent found Sean Roberts twenty yards from goal and his excellent strike crashed past Liam Allen in the Molesey goal.

There were more chances at both ends and Joe Nwoko should really have levelled for Molesey when Cray went two up in the 26th minute with another cracking strike.  This time Dent let fly with a shot which took a slight deflection and flew into the top right corner of the net.

The third goal came two minutes after the restart when Taylor McDonagh’s cross into the box found Bradley Woods-Garness who scored from close range with his second goal in successive games.

The game was held up by a serious head injury to Molesey’ Ross Chalke fifteen minutes from time which required hospital treatment.  Both side came close to scoring again before Joe Pratley-Jones was sent off for the visitors in injury time for a second bookable offence.

Cray now face two cup ties at Hayes Lane in the next week.  Firstly, holders Dartford face Cray in the Kent Senior Cup whilst on Sunday, Carshalton Athletic are the visitors in the FA Trophy.
