Cray Wanderers went out of the FA Cup as a solitary second half goal sent Faversham through to the 2nd Qualifying Round.

This was the second meeting between the two teams in seven days and where Cray were the better side in the league match Faversham deserved to win this encounter.

The first half saw few chances of note with Karl Dent firing wide from the edge of the penalty area the best opportunity for Cray.

Perhaps the best moment of the half was a fizzing twenty five yard shot from Kieron Campbell which forced Nick Blue to turn the ball round the post.

Cray really should have been awarded a penalty in the 53rd minute when Grant Basey appeared to be brought down two yards inside the area but the referee gave a free kick instead on the edge of the box.

Faversham took the lead on the hour when Campbell curled in a free kick close to the left touchline which found its way into the net.

Cray tried to get back into the game and came close when Taylor McDonagh was denied by a tremendous save by Will Godmon.

Before the end Sam Bewick missed a good chance for the home side whilst for Cray, Seedy Njie fired a cross-shot from the left narrowly wide.
