Cray made it two wins over the Bank Holiday weekend as the Wands came from a goal down to win against one of their bogey teams in recent years, Chatham Town, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.

Cray started the game on top but it was the home side who went ahead against the run of play in the 19th minute.  Ricky Gundry’s left wing shot was deflected into the path of Luke Medley who steered the ball into the net.

The Wands levelled in the 31st minute with a superb solo goal by Brandon Scott when he cut in from the right touchline, swerved past three defenders and when he got to the penalty area planted a lovely finish past Henry Newcombe.

Cray went ahead in the 62nd minute from a well worked corner routine.  Grant Basey’s ball to the back post was headed across goal by Jay Leader to Jonte Smith who volleyed into the roof of the net from 3 yards.

The third goal came in the 73rd minute and after a short backpass was intercepted by Smith, who laid the ball off to Anthony Adesite who finished clinically.

Cray are currently ninth in the Isthmian South table, two points behind the leaders.  The Wands next travel to Faversham Town in the FA Cup on Saturday in good heart.
