Harry Crawford's first goal in Welling United colours earned his team a well deserved point at Truro City.

Two new signings made their Wings debuts, and both Adam Coombes and Lyle Della-Verde put in encouraging performances.

In fact the latter almost made an immediate impact. Sam Hatton put in a good cross that Della-Verde was unable to turn goal-wards and Dan Walker was caught offside at the far post.

Dangerous Niall Thompson curled in an awkward cross that went just beyond Chris Lewington's far post but Welling continued to play the better football.

Hatton came close with a twenty five yard effort that flew just wide then Walker's pace sent him through but his shot was pushed wide, unconvincingly, by Adriano Basso in the Truro goal.

Once again, Hatton was in the thick of the action with a cross headed over by Mitchell Nelson.

Lewington had to be alert to save at the feet of Andrew Neal before Cody Cooke stabbed wide after a free kick was half cleared.

Della-Verde then gave Coombes a sight of goal but a half block took all the power out of his effort.

Walker then shot into a crowd with Coombes well placed alongside him.

Ryan Brett tried his luck from well out but Lewington did well as it appeared to dip late.

Again, Della-Verde and Coombes combined again but Walker's well struck shot flew straight at the Truro custodian.

Basso was fortunate moments later, when dropping Della-Verde's cross but Walker was unable to turn the loose ball in.

Neal had the ball in Welling's net but both he and Thompson, who set it up, was were well offside.

Danny Waldren's slice sailed towards Welling's goal but Lewington back pedalled to save, and the Welling goalkeeper was again in action just before the break when pushing over Thompson's shot.

Mark Goldberg made a change at the break, replacing the injured Hatton with Crawford.

Early in the second period, Basso was almost caught out by Delle Verde's over-hit cross that landed on the roof of the net.

Six minutes into the second half, Welling conceded a bad goal. Dilly-dallying defending allowed Truro to take a quick throw in and Neal set up Cooke who slotted home.

Waldren fired just wide for Welling following more good work from Delle Verde.

Another Neal shot went wide before Welling levelled.

Once more Della-Verde was involved when his low cross found Walker at the far post and his lay-back was perfect for Crawford to finish at close range.

Substitute Ollie Knowles' free kick came back off the wall and Ben Adelsbury followed up with a shot that was turned over spectacularly by Lewington.

Knowles then earned himself a yellow card in the aftermath of a bad Truro tackle that had players from both sides piling in.

There was a late scare for Welling when Cooke cut in from the Wing but Lewington was out smartly to smother and ensure they did not go home unrewarded for their efforts.
