Bromley recovered from last week’s FA Cup defeat against Eastleigh to record a fine victory over Lincoln City on Saturday to end their unbeaten home record stretching back to April.

The hosts had the better of the first half creating several chances, but found Bromley’s goalkeeper, Chris Kettings, in top form, ably supported by his fellow defenders.

A couple of half chances for Lincoln City early on came to nothing, before Louis Dennis saw his effort at the other end blocked.

Kettings went full length to push Jack Muldoon’s header around the post in the 7th minute, before Dennis’s free kick shaved the Lincoln post.

Kettings was kept busy during the opening exchanges and was once again called into action to push a powerful striker wide and deny Alex Power a scoring opportunity.

As the half reached its conclusion, Jack Holland cushioned a header into the path of Moses Emmanuel but the hosts’ stopper was quickly off his line to smother at the feet of the Bromley striker.

The visitors restarted the match strongly and almost took the lead when Anthony Cook’s 20 yard effort clattered off the bar.

Ali Fuseini, making his 150th appearance for the Ravens, then fires narrowly wide before Holland has his point black shot superbly saved.

A diving header by Emmanuel was just the wrong side of the post, and Fuseini again shot wide from a promising position.

Kettings had had very little to do in this half, but his concentration levels were kept high as he punched away Bush’s free kick off the head of Rhead.

Dennis was unlucky in the 63rd minute when his curling strike came back off the upright, and Holland was denied by a fine stop by Lincoln ‘keeper Paul Farman shortly after.

The hosts were once again denied by Kettings when he brilliantly tipped over Waterfall’s close range header, following Terry Hawkridge’s cross from the left.

But, with nine minutes remaining, Bromley finally made the breakthrough.

Lincoln’s defence was caught out by Fuseini’s quickly taken free kick which picked out Emmanuel on the edge of the six yard box, and the league’s leading scorer turned his marker to fire low into the corner of the net.

Callum Howe tamely shot wide in the closing stages, as the home side looked for an equaliser, but Bromley held on for a thoroughly deserved three points to move back into a play-off position.
