Dartford boss Tony Burman has warned his side that there’s still room for improvement despite claiming two straight victories.

Burman’s team have moved up to 11th in the National League South following wins against Bishop’s Stortford and Hayes & Yeading.

Goals from Tom and Elliot Bradbrook secured the three points against Hayes on Saturday, but Burman insisted his charge need to remain grounded.

He said: “It was nice to get another win, of course. The players trained really well during the week and that showed in our performance.

“We created chances and thankfully scored a couple of goals.

“I think it could have been even more comfortable and but we’ll take the performance and the three points.

“There’s still room for improvement as always.

“Football can change very quickly and results are improving, but we’re fully aware that there’s still a long way to go and we’re not getting too over excited about the results.”

The Dartford management were criticised by a segment of supporters after failing to establish themselves as early pace setters in the division.

But the club are only five points off a play-off spot and Burman believes his side are starting to show some promising signs.

“The last few weeks they’ve been going in and that makes everyone’s belief and confidence increase,” Burman, 57, added.

“I am pleased that we have got another result and there were some good signs from the lads on Saturday.

“I was pretty happy with what I saw from my team overall and thought we thoroughly deserved the three points.

“We have played reasonably well in quite a few games and perhaps didn’t get the results we deserved.

“Earlier in the season we were creating chances but they weren’t going in – that’s the difference.”

The Princes Park chief also praised the performance of Elliot Bradbrook, who has scored five goals so far this season and has been a constant threat going forward.

He said: “Elliot has been in decent form but he could have had more even goals.

“But he’s the captain and he’s been an excellent servant for this football club and I’m happy with his performance.

“His goal against Hayes was a great move and as a manager it was great to see.”
