Mark Goldberg blasted the performance of the officials after Bromley were knocked out of the FA Cup by Eastleigh on Saturday.

The Ravens, who are two points above the Southampton side in the National League, were left to rue several decisions that went in the visitors favour at Hayes Lane.

Anthony Cook was felled in the box shortly before half-time and in-form forward Moses Emmanuel was also brought down inside the area, but the officials refused to award Bromley a penalty.

Goldberg said: “We were absolutely robbed by the referee twice. I have no doubt that there was a penalty for Cooky in the first half and one for Moses in the second.

“I can’t understand how the referee or the linesman didn’t give them.

“I’m sorry to everybody but I do feel like we’ve been let down by the officials.

“If he didn’t give the penalty, why not book him? I just don’t get it.”

After an uncharacteristically slow start to the game the visitors took the lead, but after Louis Dennis equalised for Bromley there appeared to be only one winner.

However, a Jai Reason cross beat goalkeeper Chris Kettings and ensured the Ravens crashed out of the cup at their first attempt.

“I’m extremely disappointed as the cup means so much to Bromley,” Goldberg said.

“Commercially it’s a disaster really and for this group of players I feel sorry for them because the cup is an opportunity to achieve something special and it’s been taken away from us.

“We started very poorly, we were all over the place and I don’t know why.

“Everything we asked them to do in the first ten minutes they didn’t do.

“But we got ourselves back into contention and we dug deep and started playing with more confidence.

“We had chance after chance and goals which usually come our way didn’t today.”

The Bromley boss was also bewildered by Eastleigh’s winner, which came 13 minutes from time.

“We conceded the most unfortunate, ridiculous goal,” he added.

“Ben Chorley will admit he should have headed it away, but the keeper [Kettings] should have anticipated it better.

“It was really poor miscommunication and it wasn’t like they deserved it at that moment.

“Overall it’s extremely disappointing and costly.”
