Cray produced a tremendous fight back from two goals down with ten men for 80 minutes to grab a point in an excellent contest at Hayes Lane.

Cray, 2-1 winners at Thamesmead on Monday evening were rocked on their heels after only ten minutes when Ben Payne was sent off for bringing down Ollie Hughes on the edge of the penalty area.

Despite this Cray went in front in the fifteenth minute when Mike Frieter’s right wing cross was turned home by Omone Sodje.

A minute before half time, Bury who had applied a lot pressure levelled with a 25 yard strike from Justin Miller.

Bury seemed lifted by this and they took the lead in the 48th minute when Ollie Canfer headed home a ball from Bradley Barber’s left wing cross.

The game looked to be over in the 62nd minute when Bury scored again, this time through Sam Reed well stuck effort.

Cray however have a never say die spirit and replied a minute later when Frieter scored from close range after Duckworth’s shot was saved by Neil O’Sullivan.

The Wands kept plugging away and made it 3-3 through a Grant Basey penalty after Ade Osifuwa was brought down in the box to grab an unlikely draw to remain four points clear at the top of the table.
