Cray Wanderers made it ten wins in a row as the final game of the season ended in a fairly routine victory against Dereham Town.
The match had an end of season feel although a strong breeze spoiled the game as a spectacle after a lively start to the game. Kyle Downes came close for the home side before Cesc Fakinos shot over the bar for the Wands
In the 41st minute Cray took the lead after Helge Orome’s fine ball across the box fell to Adrian Stone whose effort was parried by Andy Wilton and the loose ball fell to Orlando Smith who finished emphatically from 4 yards.
The wind nearly contributed to a bizarre goal from goalkeeper Luke Colquhoun as his huge wind assisted kick bounced up inside the six yard box and Wilton had to push the ball over for a corner.
With the game entering the last ten minutes Cray upped the tempo and substitute Carl Rook had two chances to score before with three minutes to go he rose to head home Smith’s left wing corner.
Tommy Warrilow's Cray finished in the Isthmian League North table in 16th place with a record of:
Played 46 Won 14 Drawn 10 Lost 22 Scored 77 Conceded 86 Points 52. This took Cray seven points clear of safety.
