Neutrals would have been hard pressed to know which team was looking for a top five finish and which team was in the drop zone as Woking and Welling United played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Loui Fazakerley was forced into making a change before the game had started with Michael Chambers being taken ill. Reece Harris replaced him. Meanwhile, Woking manager Garry Hill had the luxury of picking an unchanged team.

Kevin Betsy tested Jonathan Henly early on with a low cross from close range that the Wings keeper held well.

After surviving a couple of early corners, Welling went ahead. Vose whipped in a free kick and Ross Lafayette flicked it into the corner after getting in front of his marker.

It could have been two when Harris pulled back from the bye-line but Jake Gallagher couldn't find the target with his header.

Yemi Odubade then tried to catch Henly out at his near post but his shot went behind the goal and John Goddard then fired over after a couple of Woking shots were blocked.

Another Odubade first time effort went wide as Woking tried to up the tempo.

Scott Rendell then had a great opportunity when a long ball set him away but he was unable to get sufficient lift and Henly claimed above his head.

Vose sent Harris away with another free kick but Michael Crowe did well to punch away at full stretch.

Poor defending allowed Gallagher a shooting opportunity but he snatched his effort wide. Then Barney Williams crossed deep but Vose was unable to connect cleanly with an attempted volley.

Joe Healy headed wide from another Vose corner as Welling finished the half strongly.

Early in the second period, Lafayette had a big shout for a penalty not given before a terrible decision allowed Woking a spot kick. Obudabe went over under pressure from Gallagher and Rendell converted off the trailing boot of Henly.

Mark Rickett's foul on Lafayette presented Welling with another free kick but Vose curled his effort wide.

Once again, Harris caused panic in the Woking defence and it took a last gasp touch to rob Lafayette of a tap in.

Crowe then saved a swirling 35 yarder from Gallagher before Woking went ahead. Betsy crossed, Rendell controlled well and Odubade hit home via a slight deflection.

Fifteen minutes remained when Fazakerley made a double change and it paid immediate dividends when replacement Tashan Adeyinka rose to head home from Joe Healy's cross.

Garry Hill then followed suit with a double substitution as both teams searched for the winner.

Gallagher looked to be in but was foiled by a superb last gasp tackle by Joey Jones. Then Woking substitute Adam Newton sent in a cross for Josh Payne but his header flew wide.

The hearts of Welling supporters missed a beat when Rendell's scrambled finish looked to have won the game but his celebrations were short-lived as it was chalked off for offside.
