Cray notched up their biggest victory of the season as Adrian Stone’s hat-trick gave the Wands an emphatic win at Burnham which followed up their 1-0 win at Redbridge on Tuesday night.
Cray took the lead on 8 minutes after Burnham centre half Bradley Walsh under no pressure trod on the ball and slipped which presented the ball to Moses Ashikodi who had the easiest of tasks to tap the ball into the net.
Cray went two nil up when Rory Hill’s pin-point cross was nodded home from just inside the six yard box by Stone.
Cray started the second half again on the front foot and Ashikodi had a great chance to score but pulled his shot wide.
Cray made it 3-0 in the 79th minute. Chris Piper’s corner was met by the head of Cesc Fakinos and his header came back off the post. The loose ball then fell to Stone who coolly tucked home a composed finish.
Burnham’s bad afternoon was added to in the 90th minute when Tom Anderson was sent off for what was deemed an elbowing offence.
Cray added to their score in the second minute of stoppage time when Nathan Simpson’s excellent cross was nodded home again by Stone.
Cray: Colquheun, Fakinos, Simpson, Smith, Humphrey, Orome, Hill (Teniola), Piper, Stone, Ashikodi (Pass), Whitely: Subs: Springett, Griffin, Ives
