Not for the first time this season Cray were beaten by a last minute goal this time at Aveley.  This after coming back from two goals down early in the second half.

The first half was rather scrappy but on 37 minutes Aveley went ahead when Ahmed Deen’s ball into the box was deflected to former Wand Alex Stavrinou who cleverly laid the ball off to Shamido Pedulu who rolled the ball into the net.

On 55 minutes Aveley went further ahead from the penalty spot after a handball by Fraser Stevens just inside the area.  From the resultant spot kick Stavrinou struck home a confident penalty.

Cray pulled a goal back on 63 minutes when Warren Whitley played in Adrian Stone via a deflection into the area to plant the ball in the bottom right corner of the net.

A minute later it was 2-2 when Moses Ashikodi was quickest to react to a loose ball in midfield to run on and chip the ball superbly over James Marrable into the net.

Just when it seemed the game was going to end a draw Aveley scored in the last minute.  When substitute Sammy Knott put in a great cross from the right which was volleyed home by Petrit Elbi.
