Cray were defeated as Brentwood Town fought back from two down to claim the three points in the Wands first game since 10th January.

On 21 minutes Cray took the lead after Chris Piper’s good run took him to the edge of the area and set up Warren Whitely for a shot which was blocked. The ball then fell to Adrian Stone who turned and hit a well struck shot past Ollie Bowles.

On 29 minutes it was 2-0 when Nathan Simpson’s ball into the box from the Cray right found Moses Ashikodi who just got to the ball ahead of a defender to prod the ball home.

Three minutes from half time Brentwood pulled a goal back when Thomas Richardson hit a fine shot from just inside the area.

With eight minutes left the visitors levelled when a ball was played to the left to Sherwin Stanley whose cross was turned home again by Richardson.

Brentwood’s winner came on 87 minutes when Sam Bantick’s pass fell to Stanley down the right who ran on and planted the ball confidently past an advancing Lewis Moore.
