Bromley bounced back from their midweek defeat at home to Hemel Hempstead Town to record a vital 2-1 victory at Hayes & Yeading United on Saturday.

A goal down at the interval, the Lillywhites were in front within ten minutes of the second half thanks to goals from Moses Ademola and Pierre Joseph-Dubois.

It was the home side who had the first shot on target in the eighth minute when Seb Brown brilliantly pushed around the post Rhys Murrell-Williamson’s curling shot after the winger had got the better of two Bromley defenders.

A Joe Anderson free-kick was headed wide by Joseph-Dubois moments later before Hayes keeper Callum Kitscha and Ademola accidentally clashed heads going for the same ball.

Unfortunately for him and the hosts, it was the keeper who came off worse and had to be replaced by Grant Smith.

Ademola headed Ugo Udoji’s cross just wide after the full-back had intercepted a pass on the halfway line.

Most of the hosts’ threats came from the lively Murrell-Williamson, who caused distress in the Bromley rearguard on several occasions.

After carrying the ball from his own half and around four challenges, he blasted well wide from the edge of the area.

Hayes & Yeading opened the scoring in the 25th minute from the penalty spot.

Pat Cox converted after Udoji had tangled with Dean Inman in an off the ball incidents following a corner on the left.

The Ravens defender was booked for his troubles.

Bromley were unlucky not to have levelled within 60 seconds as Ademola and Jordan Robertson exchanged passes before the latter chipped across the face of goal where Louis Dennis fired into the side-netting from an acute angle.

Danny Waldren shot against the bar when well placed, Smith prevented Ademola from meeting Reece Prestedge’s delivery, while Joseph-Dubois headed just wide from a Dennis corner.

Ademola did extremely well in first half stoppage time to bring under control Udoji’s long ball into the area and turn his marker, but a superbly timed tackle from Inman preserved the home side’s lead.

Just five minutes after the restart, Bromley were level.

Robertson played in Joseph-Dubois, who unselfishly squared a pass across goal for a simple tap in by Ademola.

And the game was turned on its head five minutes later when Bromley went in front.

Ademola played Prestedge into the area and he squeezed the ball across the face of the goal for Joseph-Dubois to hit home his 50th goal for the Hayes Lane club in his 132nd appearance.

The advantage could easily have been increased by Ademola after being played in by Robertson, but Smith reacted quickly to deny the Bromley striker.
Tom Collins dragged his effort wide of Brown’s right hand post as the home side searched for the equaliser.

Dennis saw his volley deflected wide and then his chipped cross scrape the top of the bar.

But in the final minute Lillywhites stopper Brown got down well to deny Hayes winger Collins and ensure his side moved up to third in the Conference South table.
