Two goals from Shaun Welford, the second in the last minute of the game gave the Wands a deserved draw at Waltham Abbey.

Waltham Abbey started the better side and took the lead on 6 minutes.  Harry Elmes played a fine ball through to Ben Hart who scored with a neat finish.

Cray’s best chance of the first half came in stoppage time when Ian Daly shot over the crossbar from close range.

The second half was a livelier affair and Cray got off to a great start with a well worked equaliser.  Rory Hill played the ball out to Cesc Fakinos down the left who put in a superb first time cross which was met by Welford who made no mistake with a firm header.

However, the home side took the lead again on 56 minutes when Joe Kizzi’s corner was headed home by James Hallet.

Michael Phillips came close when his effort from bounced against the post and was unlucky when his shot was turned over by home keeper James May.

With the game entering its last minute, Cray levelled when Hussein Isa’s corner was headed powerfully home by Welford.
