Mark Goldberg says there will be no complacency after his side booked a place in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round with a convincing replay 5-0 win over Grays Athletic.

The Ravens swept the Essex outfit aside to set up a date with Evesham United for a place in the first round proper of the competition.

And despite their next opponents lying in the Southern Division One South & West, two levels below Bromley, boss Goldberg has warned that it will not be an easy path through to a fifth first-round appearance under his management.

He explained: “We’ve got one hell of a difficult tie in the next round, so I can’t even think about reaching the first round proper.

“We’ll go there with the same respect for Evesham as we would with any team in any league.

“It will be another battle from the first minute to the last.

“We want to make it five and we’ve got a great opportunity, but Evesham will look at it and say the same.

“The cup means an awful lot to me personally, to the football club and commercially it’s extremely important.

“We’re in the hat, we’re in with a chance and we’ve got to go away from home, but we’ve got an important game on Saturday against Bath and that’s out priority.”

Bromley were left frustrated as a fine performance from Grays stopper Connor Gough kept out the Ravens in a 0-0 stalemate at The Mill Field three days earlier.

But it was a different story in last night’s replay as the hosts showed their class in the pouring rain.

Reece Prestedge was on hand to nod Bromley into the lead before Pierre Joseph-Dubois was brought down by Gough when clean through on goal.

Despite Jordan Robertson converting the penalty, the Hayes Lane crowd were left astonished when the Grays stopper was not even shown a yellow card when a red seemed to be the only option.

“I thought it was a strange one that the goalkeeper wasn’t sent off,” said Goldberg.

“He clearly still had the ball under control when he’d taken it round the keeper and there is no way he wouldn’t have scored.

“But we got the job done against 11 men and that’s all the more pleasing for us.”

The job was all but complete by the time Adam Bailey-Dennis headed home a third after the break, while Duncan Culley bundled in a fourth and man of the match Louis Dennis added the cherry on top with a long-range beauty into the top corner for 5-0.

Grays had the chance to net a consolation from the spot after Ali Fuesini was harshly adjudged to have brought down Freddie Ladapo, but Seb Brown stood strong to keep out the tricky forward’s spot-kick.

And the Bromley boss was quick to praise his players’ work ethic for sealing the victory at the second time of asking.

Goldberg said: “It took a replay to be able to get the win and it was an impressive win.

“Just the work ethic and the way they responded after Saturday was very pleasing.

“We were first to every second ball and we worked to our game plan a lot more effectively today.”

Meanwhile, Goldberg has revealed fans should expect one or two new faces at Hayes Lane as Bromley continue their push for promotion.

He said: “We’ve made a couple of changes to our squad recently and we’re trying to make sure we keep the backbone of the side strong.

“We’ve had to clear out a couple of individuals that haven’t quite fitted into the way we’d like to play and we will be strengthening with one or two as well, possibly before the Bath game.

“Although we’ve got a good result to today, we’ve got a long way to go before we’re at our best and before we believe we have a squad ready to go on and do what we want to achieve this year.”

Bromley play host to Bath City in the Conference South at Hayes Lane on Saturday (3pm).
