Isthmian Football League Division One North – 24/9/14

Romford                                       2

Cray Wanderers                            2

The Wands were disappointed to allow a two goal lead to slip as Romford came back to earn a draw at Ship Lane.

The Wands got off to a good start to the game with the lively Kerry Kedze shooting just wide and created a couple more good openings prompted by new signing Marlon Patterson.

Cray scored the goal their approach play deserved on 29 minutes when Dan Stubbs found himself in the box and his cross shot was parried by the keeper and Adrian Stone was on hand to tap the ball home to send the Wands in at halftime ahead.

Cray began the second half much the way they started the first and went two up on 55 minutes with an excellent goal.  Kedze worked hard to keep the ball when challenged outside the box.  He passed out to the right to Patterson and his great cross was met by Shaun Welford who headed the ball powerfully home.

With thirteen minutes left, Romford got the goal they had been threatening since the second goal when they were awarded a penalty when Jamie Dicks was brought down in the area.  Tom Richardson dispatched the penalty.

Romford then levelled in the 86th minute with a great strike out of the blue by Abs Seymour.  Seymour picked the ball up twenty yards out and curled a fine strike wide of Behcet.
