Cray took a point from their visit to Brentwood although they may be disappointed not to pick up all three as the Wands led 3-1 early in the second half.
Cray got off to a terrible start when Brentwood took the lead after 40 seconds. Sherwin Stanley’s cross was met by a header from Sam Bantick which looped into the net.
Brentwood came close when Stanley hit the post. However, Cray levelled after twelve minutes when Andre Marques’s shot was only parried by Ollie Bowles and Shaun Welford lashed home the rebound.
Cray got off to a great start to the second half when two minutes in they took the lead. Jordan Bird’s corner into the box was met by Gary Beckett who nudged the ball into the net.
Cray scored again on 56 minutes with a fine goal. Bird passed the ball to Adrian Stone whose shot was blocked and the rebound fell to Nick Humphrey who hit a great shot into the net via a slight deflection.
Brentwood pulled a goal back when Alex Akorfi scored on 62 minutes with a simple finish after a decent move.
Brentwood levelled with six minutes left when Shad Ngandu reacted quickest to Behcet’s save from Bantick’s cross shot.
Cray almost retook the lead when Cesc Fakinos’s corner was headed against the cross bar and over by Danny Lye.
