Collings inspires Wings kids to cup final success
WELLING United U13s beat Maidstone Utd 3-1 in the final of the Kent County Cup.
Man-of-the-match Tommy Collings put the Wings in front on 13 minutes and then doubled his and Welling’s tally before the break.
Maidstone halved the deficit in the second half through Bradley Jeffrey and only a Welling defence well marshalled by skipper Tom Hever denied the Stones an equaliser.
As the final minutes approached, Callum Hill slotted the ball into the Maidstone net to secure the county crown for the Wings.
