Fisher boys enjoy Dutch success

A YOUTH football team have triumphed in an international tournament held in Holland.

Fisher Athletic under-11s, who are based in Beckenham, faced English, German and Dutch opposition at the prestigious Rotterdam Cup competition and returned home with the trophy.

The Selkent A league side won six, drew one and lost only one of their eight games to claim the crown, scoring 28 goals and conceding only two in the process.

Team manager Guy Thompson was delighted with the success and paid tribute to the victorious youngsters.

He said: "We were the best under-11s team in the tournament and the boys deservedly won a massive trophy.

"As well as the great winning feeling, the boys also brought home with them some great memories of Holland and the friendship of many teams."
