BURNT Oak Junior School are celebrating after being crowned the top under-10s schools football team in Bexley borough.
Bexley Primary Schools FA held the seven-a-side under-10s finals tournament at Colyers Primary School and Burnt Oak emerged as champions after victory over Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School.
To qualify for the finals match, the team had had to play two rounds and a semi-final qualifying match.
Burnt Oak's headteacher Mrs Richardson said: "It is a fantastic achievement for our footballers and this now makes a total of three times Burnt Oak have won this competition
"At Burnt Oak we encourage all our young people to work as team members and promote healthy lifestyles.
"Winning this tournament demonstrates how hard the children of Burnt Oak work to achieve these aims.
"Our thanks go to Mr Hawthorne, the teacher who coaches the teams, and for the fantastic support given to our players by their families."
